That "Indie Music Minute" video, Michael, looks so fascinating, and I hadn't really thought about that dilemma for today's musicians! Even in '74, as he mentions in at least one of the 20 articles he's written on my 'Stack, Stephen Michael Schwartz' (at 20), signed his RCA Records contract sans manager! It was well into recording his debut album for the label that he finally realized/decided he'd better GET a manager.....somebody with legal chutzpah and knowledge!
I imagine a lot of "kids" wanting to record'n'stream today, likely haven't thought about the guidance and legal awareness one needs to have today, even/especially without the major-label industrial complex that needed to be waded through last century! It's likely even MORE so needed today!
