Today’s post will be a bit different. You’ll be receiving a “cross post” written by our friend Brad Kyle, who generously granted permission to share a previous post of his that I think you’ll enjoy. My family has a new arrival this week, and I’m a grandfather (again)! Mom, dad and newborn babe are all healthy and happy and we’re celebrating this new life. I had originally planned to go dark this week, but all is well with the new baby and I’ll be back tomorrow with a regular Friday post and we’ll have an "extra large Thursday “Links” and stuff post next week!
So for today, you’ll receive a post from me that includes Brad’s Front Row and Backstage SubStack post - a heartwarming story about a treasured guitar that was lost and recovered by a young man who, if he isn’t already, will likely become a household name very soon.
Please consider reading and subscribing to Brad’s Substack here:
We met Brad last year when I posted my email interview with him in two parts:
Regular post tomorrow!
Cheers and keep playing!!
Michael Acoustic
Thanks so much, Michael, for this decidedly Brad-centric piece! I'm humbled. Thanks also for the cross-posting of the Billy Strings guitar retrieval. I certainly hope your readers (most of whom I know are players and students) enjoy not only Billy's saga, but the '70s race to the '23 Koa Martin shared by Stephen Michael Schwartz linked within!
Stephen, as some of your readers may know, is a singer/songwriter/guitarist who recorded an album on RCA Records (when he was 20) in '74, and was 1/3 of the popular children's trio, Parachute Express for a couple decades (that story will be told shortly)!
Stephen's already generously contributed 20 articles on FRONT ROW & BACKSTAGE, with his rare and personal peeks into the '70s Hollywood record biz! I invite your readers to dig in!🎸Thanks again, Michael!--Brad
