Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve - and we’ll take advantage of the inevitable look back at the year that was to put many of the concepts we’ve talked about into context. It won’t be a “year in review” type of thing - more a look “how far we’ve come” deal. We’ll learn a great, but simple, 3 chord song (or at least the chorus) and bring much that we’ve discussed into the process of learning to play and sing a new song, from the very basics, to some more advanced techniques you can try. We’ll also look at some meter, phrasing and rhyme structures the artist chose, as well some technical aspects of playing and singing the song (which makes it a great song to play and discuss with your guitar instructor!).
Bonus Round: The song we’ll focus on tomorrow was used as the opening theme for a streaming service television show from a few years ago, featuring one of my favorite actors, Scott Glenn. I know, pretty vague clue, but if you know, you know.
Bonus New Year’s Easter Egg: Somewhere in the text above is a song title that’s sort of emphasized, who performed it?
See you tomorrow!
Cheers, and keep playing!!
