Last week we sort of dipped our toe into music theory, a scary subject for many!! Since it’s Halloween this weekend, it fits the mood, I suppose, but tomorrow we’ll talk about a way to think of “music theory” as less than a scary set of rules to be obeyed, and more of a “tradition” or set of historical precedents. Using that approach, we’ll talk about why music theory is maybe most important in how it works as a “language” to communicate with other musicians!!
Last week’s Bonus Round answer: Hank Williams wrote and performed “Your Cheatin’ Heart” in 1952 (Good job, Terry B!)
Tomorrow’s Bonus Round: What was the breakthrough 1982 hit for the band referenced in the subtitle to this post?
See you tomorrow!
Cheers, and keep playing!!
