The Regular Friday Post
Rando Lyric: I'll take my saddle, I'll take the reins
Welcome to The Regular Friday post!
Back to the usual this week and next - we’ll be dark the weeks of Christmas and New Years (y’all will be celebrating and partying anyway!) - It’ll be a good time to look through my previous posts at Archives and maybe pick a Song To Play with that new guitar you got for Christmas…
Or the old one that’s in the closet and needs some love….
Last week’s rando lyric: The lyric, “I’ve been quiet so long” is from the song “Silence”, written by Marshmello ft. Khalid (August 11, 2017) and covered and performed as a single by Brian Fallon, in 2018 on Island Records, a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.
Ed. Note this credit is for Brian Fallon, lead singer for The Gaslight Anthem, who often does solo work. He’s one of my favorite artists and I’ve featured his work on these pages many times in the past:
Mixer, Studio Personnel, Producer, Recording Engineer, Associated Performer, Vocals: Brian Fallon (Ed. this made me chuckle…)

Some Stuff: Yeah, I know - kind of a Beatles heavy sorta week….

A Song To Play:
From Chordify Link: Silence
Ed. - not sure why the lyrics were apparently translated to Spanish, but it appears to be the only working chord chart on Chordify, so…
Also Ed. Note the Capo on 3, originally in E Major apparently to fit Mr. Fallon’s voice I assume. Transposed to G Major here, cuz easier.
From Genius Link: Silence
Yeah, I’d rather be a lover than a fighter
‘Cause all my life I’ve been fighting
I never felt a feeling of comfort
All this time I’ve been hiding
I never had someone to call my own
I’m so used to sharing
And loving never gave me a home
So I’ll sit here in the silence
I found peace in your violence
Can’t show me there’s no point in trying
I’m not one, and I’ve been quiet so long
And I found peace in your violence
Can’t show me there’s no point in trying
I’m not one, and I’ve been quiet so long
I’ve been quiet so long
I’ve been quiet so long
Now I’m in need of a savior
But I’m not asking for favors
My whole life I’ve felt like a burden
I think too much and I hate it
I’m so used to being in the wrong
I’m tired of caring
Loving never gave me a home
I’m at one with the silence
I found peace in your violence
Can’t show me there’s no point in trying
I’m not one, and I’ve been quiet so long
And I found peace in your violence
Can’t show me there’s no point in trying
I’m not one, and I’ve been quiet so long
I’ve been quiet so long
I’ve been quiet so long
And I found peace in your violence
Can’t show me there’s no point in trying
I’m not one, and I’ve been quiet so long
