Rando Lyric: I headed north when I heard Dakota call

Last week’s rando lyrics: The lyric, “Be sure to sing along” is from the song "Ride On”, written by Joost Laterveer and Rijk Laterveer, and recorded/performed by Rich McFeather. It was released as a single in July of 2021 on the label Rich McFeather Records. No producer is listed. .

Ed. From what I can tell, the artist bio was written at least 5 years ago, purportedly by Mr. McFeather (dunno if that’s a stage name or if it might be the nom de plume of one or both of the songwriters listed). Meh - I like the song - it’s simple and kinda cool, and it’s fun to play…

A Song To Play:

4/4 common time, a brisk 125 BPM, in the Key of GMajor. Did I mention I like to play songs in GMajor?

From Wikipedia: G major is a major scale based on G, with the pitches G, A, B, C, D, E, and F♯. Its key signature has one sharp. Its relative minor is E minor and its parallel minor is G minor.

Also, no one but show-offs play diminished chords (good for them…) - just play the F#m or F#m7 chord:

“Ride On” is an easy 4 chord wonder - simple to play, not difficult to follow with the YouTube - the percussive beat is on the 2 and the 4 (as usual…). Pick it either flatpick or fingerpick if you can - there’s a rhythm beat on both that’s infectious, but the picked 1 2&3&4& cadence (that’s what I heard, anyway - you’re mileage may vary…) is pure cool.
