Last week’s rando lyric: The lyric, “It's the devil I love” is from the song "Hold On, Hold On”, written and performed by Neko Case and Travis Good, Dallas Good, Mike Belitsky & Sean Dean (*Ed. these 4 are collectively “The Sadies”). It was released on the ANTI- record label in 2006 as Track 3 on the album “Fox Confessor Brings The Flood”. Produced by Neko Case and Darryl Neudorf

AVC: You said this album has the only autobiographical song you’ve ever written, “Hold On, Hold On.” What do you mean by “autobiographical”?
NC: I mean that the song is actually about me. It’s not metaphorical about other people. It’s not little pieces of my life made into a story about someone else or someone fictitious.”

4/4 common time, a fast 120 Beats Per Minute, originally in the Key of Fm (the relative minor of AbMajor), the chart below is transposed to Em via a capo on 1.
So, note where this chord chart says “Capo on fret 1” directly under the song title. You could play this in the original key of Fminor. But, if you were really keen on transposing it back, that would require a Circle of Fifths (reproduced below for the intrepid among you). Just my observation, Fminor really isn’t a whole lot of fun, just sayin’. I’ll also note I’ve seen photos of Ms. Case in performance and she’s not averse to using a capo, so…
Since my voice is not, by any stretch of the imagination, in the same universe with Ms. Case’s, I’m simply going to play the transposed chords shown and do the best I can with the lyrics. You’re mileage may vary, but…
