Last week’s rando lyrics: The lyric, “It's no better when you cry” is from the song "Two Hearts”. Written by Mark Olson* and Gary Louris**, it was released in February 1995 as Track 4 on the album “Tomorrow The Green Grass” on the “American Recordings***” record label. Produced by George Drakoulias

Welcome to The Regular Friday post!
Jayhawks are one of those bands you’ve probably heard of, heard a song on the radio or Spotify or somewhere and thought “That’s pretty cool!”. At least, that’s been my experience, and I then go listen to some of their tunes and then they somehow drift back out over time as I listen and play some other act’s songs. But they always drift back, and I always think, “Now there’s a song I want to learn!” So I do, and you can, too!

From Music Business Worldwide:
Ed. Apparently I’ve reached my limit of MBW articles I can read in some period of time without subscribing. It’s a great site, but they may be pinging on my last good nerve with this. Guess they’re fine with me generating traffic for their website, though…
A Song To Play:
4/4 common time, Key of D Major, medium tempo of 103 BPM. I played it with a Calypso/Island pick, sort of 1 2& & 4& with maybe an extra little something on beat 2 and 4. Play it as you hear it, that just happened to be what I heard, and it seemed to work. That brief run that starts at measure 45 and runs for 6 measures is the “I, I, I, I'm lonely” repeated lyric bridge - it comes at you kinda quick. Cool song to run through with the YouTube track (above) a few times, then make it your own and…
…have fun!!

[Verse 1]
Well, I know your name
Takes you back from where you came
Your words, they show
Sometimes it's real to be alone
So real to be alone
[Verse 2]
I survive, it's true
But when I get close to June
All right, okay
It's just two hearts that make us pay
Two hearts that make us pay
[Guitar Solo]
[Verse 3]
It's no better when you cry
Well, have you stopped to watch? She'll fly
Well, have you stopped to watch? She'll
[Bridge]
I, I, I, I'm lonely
I, I, I, I'm lonely
I, I, I, I'm lonely too
[Verse 4]
Well, the love you need
I don't expect you to let me see
You held your grace
It's just two hearts that make us pay
Two hearts that make us pay
[Verse 5]
You appear so strong
Only faith could lead us home
All right, okay
It's just two hearts that make us pay
Two hearts that make us pay
Oh, two hearts that make us pay
