Rando Lyric: What I know I can do (Ed. Yes, I know - too easy....)
Welcome to The Regular Friday post!
Ed. - Hat tip to our good friend Brad Kyle, Substack writer at the Front Row and Backstage page. Brad featured the Austin, Texas based group, The Reivers, a couple of weeks ago, and I thought this song would be a fabulous song to learn. Find Brad’s post at his Audio Autopsy (link) feature, and while you’re there, check out the other cool stuff on his ‘stack….
Last week’s rando lyric: “There’s something in my hat” is from the song “In Your Eyes” written by Reivers members John Croslin (listed on Spotify as the “Composer”) and Kim Longacre (listed on Spotify as the “Lyricist”) and performed by The Reivers. It was released in 1987 as Track 5 on the album “Saturday” by Capitol Records (re-released 2002 by Dualtone).
Produced by Don Dixon

Some Stuff:

A Song To Play:
Key of GMajor, 4/4 common time, a very, very quick 150 Beats Per Minute - it’s a challenging banger!!! One spot where Chordify hears a Bm, just play the Bm7, another spot where it hears Cm, again just play the open C - at this pace no one’s gonna hear the difference…

The Reivers - In Your Eyes Lyrics
There’s something in my hat
There’s something in my stereo
But I can’t stop it
Stop it from happening
There’s something in my hat
There’s something in my stereo
But I can’t stop it
Stop it from happening
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh
It’s just a little fear
And I see myself in your eyes.
And it looks so nice.
And it looks so nice.
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh
It’s just a little fear
And I see myself in your eyes.
And it looks so nice.
And it looks so nice.
It could be the lights
You could call it poetry
But I can’t hear you
Spin above my record player.
Whoa oh oh oh oh oh
It’s just a little fear
And I see myself in your eyes.
And it looks so nice.
And it looks so nice.
And I see myself in your eyes.
And it looks so nice.
And it looks so nice.

This Week’s Conversation With Mikeneko and Kageneko:
Ed. The relationship has evolved from growling and whatnot to laying down and merely staring at each other until they just sort of wander off.
Non-violent though, so that’s an improvement…
Cheers and keep playing!!

“It’s never really final - you just run out of things you can bear to change…”

Thank you, Michael, for the tip o' the hat for our Reivers coverage! I love when we #MusicStackers inspire another with one thing or another! I also love that McCartney quote about the last time he saw George, and his touching, revealing moments of simply holding George's hand, and George gently signaling back his adoration and sentiments.
Glad the fur buds are behaving themselves, and their initial animosity has cooled to just a "fur"-tive glare and a ceiling-scraping yawn!
