Mike! Thanks so much for spotlighting one of my favorite bands, XTC. And so great you chose “All of a Sudden” to highlight their work, from album “English Settlement” – which was the last album Terry Chambers drummed on, and the last album they created so that every song was rehearsed and ready to perform live on stage. The song has great lyrics and a wonderful bridge or “middle eight” – the which they were famous for in dozens of great songs. It's playable on guitar too. love what you're doing with your blog “life's like a firework, you're only lit once, and you must stand and radiate correctly.” XTC was lit, and did radiate.
The documentary was fabulous - it was stunning to learn they were around for nearly 30 years or maybe more - even more impressive that they never remained static over that entire time, but constantly reinvented themselves, their sound, and their music - great way to kick of the new whatever it is on Thursdays!
It’s on the list!!
How about a little indie Christian band called The Prayer Chain for one of your Little Gems?
