To follow it, you must be clean, with mistakes that you do mean.

It cuts you up....

Cool, and do check out the ones you don’t know, you are in for a treat. Which ones were they?

I don’t recall ever hearing of Harry Partch or Hawkwind - but

I’ll check them out - “not hearing of” and “forgot about” are pretty much synonymous as I get older

Hawkwind has is Lemmy from Motorhead's first and IMO superior band.

I was just finding some of their stuff on Chordify - I saw the Lemmy references - interesting

I recommend Orgone Accumulator, Hurry on Sundown, and The Hawkwind version of the song Motorhead.

I'll see your eclectic and raise you Harry Partch, Hawkwind, Dead Can Dance, and Tangerine Dream. :-) On a more serious note loved the bit about Allison Krauss and Robert Plant, Raising Sand is one of the best albums of the millennium, IMO.

That is eclectic - only 2 of the 4 are familiar- you may have inspired next week’s post!!

Now on to Harry Partch who is rather more challenging as a micro tonal classical composer influenced by Gamlan music who made his own instruments out of stuff like discarded aircraft parts.

Start here IMO:

Haven’t heard this song in a while, thanks! Always a CC fan. Ever listen to the Underwater Sunshine podcast? It’s really great. Duritz does it with my dear friend James Campion, a fantastic music writer. They stopped doing it during Covid, but there are always rumblings about going back to it!

I have - but that may be because you posted/said something about it (or someone else did - I just have a vague memory trace because of the Covid issue).
